Prepositional phrase begins with a preposition (worlds like in, on, onto, etc look here for more info : http://www.chompchomp.com/terms/preposition.htm), and then ends with a noun, pronoun, or a clause. EXAMPLE - at (preposition) lunch (noun) - at lunch An absolute phrase contains and combines a participle and a noun. EXAMPLE : Sammi (noun) giggled (participle) - Sammi giggled An infinitive
Is it a sentence fragment? I was confused because I just now found the subject in my lesson. I thought it wouldn't be the answer if it wasn't in the lesson.
An infinitive phrase will start with the word 'to', then a verb, then next an object. EXAMPLE : to shake a tree Lastly, a sentence fragment is an incomplete sentence EXAMPLE : After I ate pie.
