9. Find the solutions of the inequality. Show your work. 4b – 3 > –1 Help will be very much appreciated <3 am i wrong or am i right. If wrong what did i mess up on? 4b -3 > -1 - 4b -4 7 > -1

OpenStudy (lynfran):

4b-3>-1 4b>-1+3 4b>2 b>2/4 b>1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get 4b >-1+3?

OpenStudy (nuttyliaczar):

I think you messed up because of signs. You should be adding 1 to both sides not subtracting it @Ashtaroth

OpenStudy (nuttyliaczar):

But you can also move the 3 over like Lyn did

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, was wondering how she got that.

OpenStudy (lynfran):

Do you understand?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I understand. I'll re-post give me a sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not sure how you got the positive 3 though?

OpenStudy (lynfran):

I add 3 to both side of the inequality 4b-3+3>-1+3 and -3+3 is the same as 3-3 which=0 so 4b remains we get 4b>-1+3 ..note (-1+3) can also be written as 3-1 which equal 2 we then divide both sides by 4 to slove for b we get 4b/4>2/4.... b>1/2

OpenStudy (lynfran):

@Ashtaroth

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright, thanks. I got it.

OpenStudy (lynfran):

ok
