I need help on the first few steps, I'm not to sure how to do this. A vat of milk has spilled on a tile floor. The milk flow can be expressed with the function r(t) = 4t, where t represents time in minutes and r represents how far the milk is spreading. The spilled milk is creating a circular pattern on the tile. The area of the pattern can be expressed as A(r) = πr2.

The spilled milk is creating a circular pattern on the tile. The area of the pattern can be expressed as A(r) = πr2. Part A: Find the area of the circle of spilled milk as a function of time, or A[r(t)]. Show your work. (6 points) Part B: How large is the area of spilled milk after 4 minutes? You may use 3.14 to approximate π in this problem. (4 points)
Whole problem, but just need help getting through the first one then maybe I'll understand it.
substitute for r = 4t in A(r) = pi r^2
so A = pi (4t)^2
= 16 pi t^2
Ok, so after I do that I would times t^2? Or would I leave it alone and times it by 3.14?
I know I would have to do the rate of change for the second part, but would it just be 3.14 times 16?
thats the answer to Part A for Part B plug in t = 4 into 16 pi t^2 and work it out.
Oh ok give me a moment
welshfella can u help me with a question?
16 pi (4)^2 16 pi (16) 16 (50.24) 803.84 This is what I got, not to sure if it's right or wrong.
was it right??
