(x^–2y^–4x^3)^-2 simplify with positive exponents

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[(x ^{-2}y ^{-4}x^3)^{-2}\]

OpenStudy (dan815):

okay first use this identity 1/a = a^-1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[\frac{ y^8 }{ x^2 }\] This is what I got... How did you get a^-1? I may be wrong I mess up allot on equations like these. That is why I try to learn them.
