Is this correct?
Jennifer was graphing a function and noticed that at certain points, the graph reaches invisible lines the graph will never cross. Explain to Jennifer what the two types of invisible lines are and how to predict them. You may create your own example to aid in your reasoning. Use complete sentences.
Answer: Asymptotes are invisible lines that the function never goes through. THere are three kinds of Asymptotes; vertical, horizontal, and oblique. To find vertical asymptotes set the denominator to 0 and solve. To find the horizontal asymptotes you check if the numerator and denominator have the same degree, if yes then the two leading coefficients of the numerator and denominator become the horizontal asymptote. To find the oblique asymptote you divide the numerator by the denominator (synthetic division). Also there can only be two asymptotes at a time.
