For his exercise today, Chris plans to both run and swim. Let R be the number of laps he runs and let S be the number of laps he swims. Each lap he runs takes him 4 minutes, and each lap he swims takes him 3 minutes. He wants to exercise for more than 40 minutes today. Using the values and variables given, write an inequality describing this.

You could set up the equation like so: 4R+3S=40 You would know this because if each running lap is 4 mins then you could multiply the number of laps by 4 and same with the swimming laps but by 3 as it take him 3 mins for each lap. Together they would equal out to 40
