Find the line of symmetry for the parabola whose equation is y = 2x 2 - 4x + 1.

Note that the x-coordinate of the vertex of y = ax^2 + bx + c is -b/(2a), so the x-coordinate of the vertex of y = 2x^2 - 4x + 1 is: -b/(2a) = -(-4)/[2(2)] = 1. Then, since the axis of symmetry is the vertical line that passes through the vertex, the axis of symmetry is x = 1. I hope this helps!
