Alg 1 final exam studying
@Aureyliant sooo don't judge I only ever did part A of my course this year and ik I'm really late in ending >.<
Don't worry about it haha
So, I would like you to teach me good study habits (basically teach me how to study) and then I would like help reviewing everything so I feel more confident for my exam. I know radicals are a huge weakness of mine, and then word problems because I can get myself mixed up.
Definitely :) So let's start off w/ study habits
Study habits honestly range from person to person.. things that can greatly impact study influence may be: 1. Setting 2. Way of study 3. Time management
Many more, but I believe those are the main ones
Tell me about what kind of learner you are.. Auditory, Visual, or Hands-on ? You can be more than one :) I'm Visual & a little hands-on.. you can find your learning style out by taking a personality quiz of some sort to get an idea
Here's a reliable quiz to find out: http://www.educationplanner.org/students/self-assessments/learning-styles-quiz.shtml
I honestly don't know what kind of learner I am. My favorite teacher was last year and she would hand out a notes sheet that had a bunch of practice problems, then she would have some notes here and she would talk but also write what she said. And idk why, I just learned everything so fast and easily.
Your study style depends on the kind of learner you are :)
This quiz is really helpful, look, it also gives a description of the kind of learner you are and the best ways to learn.
Hands-on is a synonym of Tactile learners lol
Did you take the quiz? Or currently taking?
Currently taking :P
Take your time
Alright, it says I'm a visual learner. 35% auditory 40% visual 25% tactile
It really seems to fit me.
Interesting, they're very close! This basically means you're more of a auditory and visual learner. It's okay to be more than one.
(Copy + Pasted for your reference) Visual If you are a visual learner, you learn by reading or seeing pictures. You understand and remember things by sight. You can picture what you are learning in your head, and you learn best by using methods that are primarily visual. You like to see what you are learning. As a visual learner, you are usually neat and clean. You often close your eyes to visualize or remember something, and you will find something to watch if you become bored. You may have difficulty with spoken directions and may be easily distracted by sounds. You are attracted to color and to spoken language (like stories) that is rich in imagery. Here are some things that visual learners like you can do to learn better: Sit near the front of the classroom. (It won't mean you're the teacher's pet!) Have your eyesight checked on a regular basis. Use flashcards to learn new words. Try to visualize things that you hear or things that are read to you. Write down key words, ideas, or instructions. Draw pictures to help explain new concepts and then explain the pictures. Color code things. Avoid distractions during study times. Remember that you need to see things, not just hear things, to learn well.
Some more tips:
Some of those things I used to do, and they would help.
Now, regardless of the type of learner you are, you need to keep up w/ time management. Try making a schedule to try managing and organizing your time.
Easier said than done though haha
Well. I guess I learned one thing from my 7th grade history teacher!! Every single week he made us do a Time Management Plan. we had to fill out a chart and follow it to help us manage our time.
Awesome! So you're already past that amateur time management learning. You're already a pro!
Ehhh... I did them but I still have trouble with my time managing skills.
Where do you need help in w/ that?
Well, I do get distracted so it becomes hard to follow my plan.
Minimize distractions.. try blocking OS for a specific span of time so your addiction will be calmed so you can complete more productive things… Cut the problem from its root ;)
Yeah, when I did block it, it helped. Most stuff on my computer is blocked, and it was TORTURE but I got through my stuff rapidly.
Yes.. keep doing that. It may become a habit & it won't be that 'torturous' anymore
ok >.<
Now could you help prepare me for the test itself?
@Aureyliant
Sure.. sorry about leaving, I thought you were busy or something like that
What are the math topics you'll be covering? @horsegirl27
