@afowlkes65 @petiteme It was not the world's first antibiotic, but maybe the first one to have an understanding of the chemical make-up of the molecule.  The first commercialy available antibiotic was actually a sulfa drug.  

Now to the question.  FYI, I am a Mycologist (study mushrooms), so lucky you!  In fact, I am two months away from my PhD!!

Are you sure, 100% sure, that the answers you have posted are exactly as given to you?  We have been talking about antibiotics and penicillin so what do we think of A?  Hypha is the thread like strands of fungal cells.  Nearly all fungi have hyphae.  Many fungi are able to do fermentation.

I think you might have mistyped "D".  All organisms, all life, must reproduce in some way.  Penicillium notatum and relatives are no exception.  However, there are more ways than one to reproduce.  Humans reproduce via sexual reproduction as do many fungi.  Some fungi reproduce asexually (clonal reproduction).  Some fungi reproduce both sexually and asexually.  A few fungi have, to the best of our ability to detect, completely lost the ability to sexually reproduce.
