The policeman asked the speeder for his license. how do I turn that indirect quotation into a direct quotation?

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

what do u mean?

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

if u r asking how to write it as the policeman talking, u can say: "May I please see your license," the police man asked the speeder?

indirect- not directly stated sometimes as 3rd person, the young boy asked his mother for ice cream money direct- directly stated what happened sometimes first person- "mom can i have money for some ice cream"
