I need a lot of help with a study guide for my Biology class, I have until tomorrow to figure out what I have missing. Please!

OpenStudy (koikkara):

@speraticdownpour \(sure, ~Where~should~we~start~with~?\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I figured out that catalysts increase the rate of a reaction by decreasing the amount of energy needed to get a reaction started. However it then asks "what controls the type of reaction that the enzymes can help speed up?"

OpenStudy (koikkara):

\(\small\rm\color{blue}{Welcome~to~OpenStudy!}\) @speraticdownpour Hmm.. An alteration of enzymes productivity would be:usually at extreme temperature (out of it's optimum range), as well as changes in pH, chemical presence (toxins) amount of substrate or concentration. of enzymes in a solution. Also,note that these enzymes could help to speed up a reaction in a cell/chemical reaction by lowering the activation energy needed, to produce a reaction each enzyme act with only one substance/substrate like a lock and key. This is what is meant that they are specific for one reaction. \(\small\rm\color{green}{Nice~to~meet~you~!}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That makes sense, thank you! Nice to meet you too c: So this would also be what would influence how the enzyme's work/function. So then What happens to the enzyme to make it not function correctly anymore?

*Also, I gave you another medal from my other account and if you'd like me to post a new question after this one so I can give you two more medals I can do that too, I appreciate the help.(:*

OpenStudy (koikkara):

@speraticdownpour Thanks, I appreciate your views But instead of medal, i prefer if you could promise me, that, you will learn it well and do good in your exams ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes of course! My questions are for use of a study guide. This is for a consultation with my virtual teacher to help me with my biology end of course exam, I assure you it is not an assignment to be turned in, just looking for some extra understandings!
