Please help me... :) Select the equation of the line that passes through the point (3, −1) and is parallel to the line on the graph. y = −1 y = 3 y = x −1 y = 3x −1
Where is the line on the graph?
so if the 2 lines are parallel, does that mean they have the same slope or different slopes?
the same slope, and i have located the line. I don't think its B, I know its not A, because I have tried that.. I just dont know how to get c or d...
@AbdullahM
yes, it has the same slope.
but this new line will have to pass through the point (3,-1)
yes, I know where the line is, it is approx. 3.5 units down from the original line.
@AbdullahM
The line in the graph seems to have the equation \(\sf y=2.5\)
yes, I know
What is the y-value for this point (3,-1)
-1
so the line will have to be \(\sf y=-1\)
and whatever the x-value may be, the y-value will always be -1
so it has the same slope of 0, and it passes through the point (3,-1)
but A is not the answer, I tried that and got it wrong.
@AbdullahM
@AbdullahM
That's absurd, the answer for sure is A
SO CONFUSEED
Ask your teacher about the question. She can probably give you back points because the system has the wrong answer...
Lol they r on summer breaks... lucky them xD idk what to do
