OpenStudy (summersnow8):

Did I solve this correctly? Find the x- and y-component (round to the nearest 10th) of a vector with magnitude 15 m and direction 105°. Sin 105 = X/15 → X = 15 * Sin 105 = 14.5 Cos 105 = y/15 → Y= 15 * Cos 105 = -3.9

OpenStudy (johnweldon1993):

Hmm, well I would assume |dw:1436397571213:dw|

OpenStudy (summersnow8):

wouldn't x be a negative number because it is in the 2nd quadrant instead of y?

OpenStudy (summersnow8):

then how come that is not what I got then....?

OpenStudy (radar):

Don't you have your X and Y mixed up......isn't the Y = 15 Sin theta

OpenStudy (summersnow8):

no X is Cos

OpenStudy (radar):

Yes x is Cos and Y is Sin

OpenStudy (summersnow8):

my bad, I got mixed up, so it's -3.9, 14.5
