A cone has a diameter of 8 centimeters and a height that is 4 times the diameter. Using 3.14 for pi, which of the following can be used to calculate the volume of the cone?

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

maybe this will help :) http://www.wikihow.com/Calculate-the-Volume-of-a-Cone

@Baseballguy101

OpenStudy (baseballguy101):

that's a cone lol

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

the question clearly states a cone @Baseballguy101

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

this shape is a cylinder

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

volume = π · r2 · h is the formula for cylinders

OpenStudy (baseballguy101):

yeah sorry it's a weird question. but the cylinder is a pipe with a 1.25in filling i subtracted that from the radius but didn't get the right answer

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

maybe this will help then and the formula :) http://www.virtualnerd.com/pre-algebra/perimeter-area-volume/volume/volume-examples/cylinder-volume-example

OpenStudy (muscrat123):

did u figure it out? @Baseballguy101
