**MEDAL/FAN** Secants LJ and LM intersect and form an angle at point L. Solve for x. http://media.education2020.com/evresources/2092451_6c3e1d3d-a834-4b1d-9b23-28a182cb4ebf.png

OpenStudy (condor34):

is this geometry?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes

OpenStudy (condor34):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you think maybe you can help me?

OpenStudy (condor34):

yes, i think :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! It'd mean alot. Ive been on for a while with different questions and no one will help me

OpenStudy (condor34):

the theorem for this is that measure angle L= 1/2(JM-PQ). So (8x+48-5x-20)/2=3x+13. Then solve for x.

OpenStudy (condor34):

Is this a multiple choice question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Do you want the choices?

OpenStudy (condor34):

yes that would be great

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (condor34):

The answer is D.14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you. Think you can help me some more?

OpenStudy (condor34):

I'll try

http://media.education2020.com/evresources/2092443_e02fc594-6c8c-4581-b864-21c15a94a937.png Given the figure, find the measures of angle 1 and angle 2. If necessary round to the neares tenth

OpenStudy (condor34):

Angle 1 and 2 are vertical angles so that means that angel 1= angel 2. If you take away the smaller circle the problem becomes simple because then you just subtract 72 from 174 and the difference is 102 and when divided by 2 the answer is 51 so angle 1 and 2 are 51 degrees. hope thats not too confusing

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No lol it makes sense now that I look at it

OpenStudy (condor34):

The answer is D. But i am not to sure because in geometry if u assume from the picture u may be wrong but they dont give us any numbers so pretty positive that its d.

OpenStudy (condor34):

if its wrong you can take away the medal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No once I give medals I dont just take them away :( thats mean lol

OpenStudy (condor34):

any more questions?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not at the moment. But could I tag you if i do?

OpenStudy (condor34):

ya sure, geometry is the only thing i'm decent at.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okidoke thank yooh :3

OpenStudy (condor34):

np :)
