(4) puts its hypotenuse AB over one of its legs AD. It is equal to its similar triangle. AC is the hypotenuse of that triangle and it is divided by the corresponding leg as well. The problem with (2) is that the first part divides the hypotenuse of the smaller triangle by one of the legs, but then it is put equal to one of the legs of the larger triangle over its hypotenuse.
