What theme of Richard Connell’s story “The Most Dangerous Game” comes through in this excerpt? A. reason versus instinct B. violence and bloodshed C. helplessness of animals D. survival of the fittest
“…We should have some good hunting up the Amazon. Great sport, hunting." "The best sport in the world." "For the hunter," amended Whitney. "Not for the jaguar." "Don't talk rot, Whitney," said Rainsford. "You're a big-game hunter, not a philosopher. Who cares how a jaguar feels?" "Perhaps the jaguar does," observed Whitney. "Bah! They've no understanding." "Even so, I rather think they understand one thing—fear. The fear of pain and the fear of death."
@Keigh2015
what do you think?
i think C
or maybe A im not sure
I am stuck between some as well @misssunshinexxoxo can you come help?
@marihelenh
I guess a i think
idk maybe
It don't think it is C. My instinct is to say that it is D, seeing as this is one of my favorite short stories, if not my favorite. The only other option that may work is A, but the book doesn't really play on instinct.
thanks for the help @marihelenh
No, wait. Go with A!
ohh alright, i thought it might be A @marihelenh
