You can solve it by elimination
double the top equation so 2x+6y=-2 now subtract the second equation from that to only have y in the equation and solve for y, then apply the y value to any of the first 2 equations to solve for x.
You can divide the second equation by -2 x cancels and you have y= -4 plug in y to find x
and you have solved through elimination
Thats new, I don't think I have actually ever used division for elimination in simultaneous equations *-*
