Write 0.0002507 in scientific notation. a.2,507 x 10`-7 b.2.507 x 10`-4 c.2.507 x 10`4 d.2,507 x 10`7 (Hint: ` means exponent)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just count how many spots the decimal moves until it is next to the 2. So in this case it moves to the left 4 spaces so it would be 2.507 x 10^4.

but what about d

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what about d?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it also moves to the left 7 spaces too doesn't it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's true, but usually when you're doing scientific notation, you want to get the decimal behind the first digit that isn't 0 (in this case that number is 2). So technically both are correct, BUT c is more correct. If that makes any sense...?

ohhh uhmm ok
