Jamie has a deck of 60 sports cards, of which some are baseball cards and some are football cards. Jamie pulls out a card randomly from the deck, records its type, and replaces it in the deck. Jamie has already recorded six baseball cards and nine football cards. Based on these data, what is, most likely, the number of baseball cards in the deck? 12 15 24 30

I think it is 30 but I am not quite sure, because the 30 can be only number common in both 6 and 60

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

6 baseball cards and 9 football cards have already been pulled. what is the total number of cards already pulled?

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

BTW, 30 is not the answer for this reason. You expect the total number of cards to behave like the sample already taken out. The number already observed was 6 baseball and 9 football. That shows the number of football cards to larger than the number of baseball cards. There are 60 cards. If 30 were baseball, you'd also have 30 football cards. That makes it the same number of baseball and football cards which do not expect to be the case.
