OpenStudy (lonnie2018):

Write an equation of a line that passes through (9,-5) and (3,-5). Hint: To answer this question, first find the slope using these 2 points.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The first thing you want to do is find the slope, yes. You basically take the vertical change between the two points and divide it by the horizontal change between the two points. (Simplified as change in "y" over change in "x," or \[\Delta Y/\Delta X \] In this case, you substitute in so you should get something like this \[\frac{[(-5)-(-5)] }{ 9-3 }\] and you can simplify to get 0. Now, if you just visualize the two points, you would realize that they are both on the same horizontal line, so the equation would merely be y= -5
