How many solutions does the equation 5x + 10 = 5x − 8 have? Zero One Two Infinitely many
What do you think it is?
Alright, it's infinitely many. I just learned this a couple days ago :)
@isabellewaab is incorrect
Well sorry :/ whoops my bad
When you have the x values with the same value but the integers are different \[\large \sf \color{red}{5x}\color{blue}{+10}=\color{red}{5x} \color{blue}{-8}\] that means that the two lines produced will be parallel
so two?
You know that parallel lines never meet right?
yes
Well the number of solutions is determined by the amount of times the two lines meet each other. So if they never meet, how many solutions will there be?
um zero
That matches one of your answers, right?
yes
Well then you have your answer
thank you
