If I end up stalling in the middle, it means my batteries in my wireless mouse are dead and I need to replace them
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Select whether the equation has a solution or not. \[\sqrt[3]{x-5}-2=0\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok
OpenStudy (usukidoll):
ok so remember that we need all variable need to be on the left
that 2 needs to go on the right.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok so its gonna be the radical thing = 2

yeah that cube root =2
OpenStudy (usukidoll):
\[\large \sqrt[3]{x-5}=2\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x-5=8
OpenStudy (usukidoll):
so now to get rid of that cube root... blah let's just rearra...........you've taken ^3 on both sides... impressive.. ok.. now solve for x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok so x=13 that wasn't so hard I just wasn't sure since that little number 3 is new to me even though i know what it means

OpenStudy (usukidoll):
that means cube root
OpenStudy (usukidoll):
plug x = 13 back into the equation and see what happens (doesn't have to be the original equation this time)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok I got 8=8 and 0=0 depending on how you put it in
OpenStudy (usukidoll):
that indicates that you've done the problem correctly
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ok cool thanks
