Solve the system algebraically. y = 3 -1/2 x 3x + 4y = 1 What is the value of x? -11 17/2 11

OpenStudy (mrnood):

the first equation tells you how to write y in terms of x i.e wherever you see a y you could replace it with (3-x) so in th second equation you should write it, making that change (put 3-x where you see y)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but in from of x is a 1/2 there

OpenStudy (mrnood):

I am looking at your first question - you should start a new thread for each question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i will

OpenStudy (mrnood):

wait - did you correct the post in your second posting? is the correct equation got I/2 x in it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (mrnood):

ok - but the same solution applies as I described above wherever you see y in the second equation you can replace it with 3 - 1/2 x)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but is the answer

OpenStudy (mrnood):

did you just want the answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes please

OpenStudy (mrnood):

ahhh - sorry - I had mistaken you for someone who wanted to actually LEARN something. I'm afraid this is not the correct forum for just getting the answer. It is forbidden by the code of conduct. If you want to try the method I described above - write your first step here - I'll help you work out the answer for yourself. Try it - you might find some self-satisfaction when you do it!
