(all x-values that you can plug in into the function, without getting an undefined output) there is only 1 x-value that will give you an undefined output. this x-value is the value that makes the denominator=0 (the denominator is the "x+1" peace)

so set the denominator=0, and solve for x, to find that one value that is not in your domain
