Use factor by grouping.
I don't know how @mathway
group it so the groups would be x^3-4x and x^2-4. you can factor out the x in x^3-4x so it'll be x(x^2-4) and x^2-4 you can factor out 1. so it'll be 1(x^2-4). so x^2-4 is seen in both groups, so it'll just be (x+1)(x^2-4) so i'm assuming it's step 3? because you'll get the same results.. since x+1 is seen in bth groups but i'm not sure haha
