A cylindrical vase has a diameter of 6 inches. At the bottom of the vase, there are 7 marbles, each of diameter 3 inches. The vase is filled with water up to a height of 12 inches. Which of the following could be used to calculate the volume of water in the vase?

Volume of water = (volume of cylinder with height 12) - (7 * volume of a marble)
I don't know how to find all the volumes :(
I notice the units in question are in inches but the choices are in feet??

the volume of a cylinder = pi r^2 h where r = radius and h = height the volume of a sphere = (4/3) pi r^3 where r = radius of the sphere the marbles are all spheres
I got pi(3in)^2-7(4/3 pi(1.5in)^3)
