How do you graph a vector field ?? For example given the following function \[\vec V(x,y)=x i+yj\] Consider the point (1,1) \[\vec V(1,1)=i+j\] So do you draw a vector from the point (1,1) to (2,2)?
yes, you do it that way you might also want to scale down the vector length. because in your example you could also draw a vector from the point (2,2) to (4,4), so the vector at (3,3) would be obscured.... scaling down vector magnitude by some factor still gives the flow of the field. PITA, which is why people use software....

That also makes sense because when I graphed my field it was full of vectors overlapping each other
