Someone please check my work??????
How do i calculate the total distance of the object???????????????
Its 36+16.... Cause after position 36 it went back a distance of 16 to reach 20. And remember distance is always positive, but displacement can be negative
You just have to remember distance if a scalar (only magnitude) where displacement is a vector (magnitude and direction) so for distance it doesn't matter, if it goes right, left, up, down, you just add them up and get the total distance. However, displacement is a bit more tricky, say you have this square |dw:1438309656519:dw| notice the dimensions are the same, so for the x direction you would have 10m north - 10m south = 0, and for x direction you have 15m east - 15 m west = 0, hence your total displacement is 0 m. See the difference :P
