OpenStudy (aric200):

What kind of graphing calculator do you guys use?

OpenStudy (aric200):

I meant Calculators*

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

Just anything in mobile or laptop

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

I was required to purchase a ti-83 silver edition. But when I went to community college, I found out that $30 calculators can graph as well.

OpenStudy (arindameducationusc):

I have a app in my mobile which helps me

OpenStudy (aric200):

I cant use apps :(

OpenStudy (aric200):

It is a graphing calculator app though?

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

don't buy ti-89s though.. that's banned in most schools

OpenStudy (aric200):

I don't think in high school they ban any TI Calculators but maybe they do any my teachers have just never noticed and I am being a rebel.

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

what about for those SAT tests? it's like pen, #2 pencil and... ???

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

yo mods can't take screenshots as evidence.. but I did report a bunch of times @iambatman @aric200

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

all 5 messages LOLOLOLOL! try me. I block and report fast.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The user has been taken care of, please instead of screenshots just send in reports, reports are the best way to deal with users here, thanks :)

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

who wants to bet 5 owlbucks that it will come back under something else? -_-

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

so anyway getting back on topic. I used a ti-83 silver edition that cost I think $130 back then??? but that was over 10 years ago. Prices dropped and hardware got upgraded

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

However, once I reached university, I had to get rid of my dependence with the calculator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I used TI - 84 and still use it today :), has lasted my years, cost me about 200 bucks at the time...but these calculators aren't allowed on tests after high school here, so kind of useless, unless you really need the applications it offers.

OpenStudy (aric200):

I think online they are alot cheaper than in the stores.

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

so now... if I have to solve something, it's all paper, pencil, pens (for graphing multiple stuff), and my brain .

OpenStudy (aric200):

Ah Okay well I am a senior so only one year left any ways I am not going to invest in a 200$ calculator I can only use this year. No thanks haha

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, you could probably try amazon

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

does anyone remember the palm pilot? It was short lived and used to be expensive? Now it's like $2 for the original and $10 for the colors version

OpenStudy (aric200):

I have a TI-84 Plus Silver its just been acting up not turning on at times I changed the battery's but Im not sure

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

hmmm... I remember changing the 4 aaa batteries but not the pancake battery.

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

try replacing the pancake battery and see what happens. I think it's CR2032 for the battery model but I'm not sure.

OpenStudy (aric200):

I totally Didn't even see it took both

OpenStudy (aric200):

That is the backup battery it would be strange if that is the problem

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

I know the backup batteries last for a long time, but once in a while they do lose its power. the cr2032 battery is also used in computers. If that battery dies, then you have to replace it or get use to changing the computer clocks when you're logging in ...

OpenStudy (aric200):

Ill figure it out. They are not to pricey after looking and My sister might even have one hidden somewhere, Or if I can figure this one out Ill just stick with it

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

apparently, I had to change my calculator to a TI 30XA. That was a good calculator...until I accidentally stepped on the screen :(

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

all the I don't know what it's called but it was gooey and bleed all over.. the calculator still worked but I couldn't see anything :/

OpenStudy (aric200):

That is a bit concerning .....

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

so I replaced it with a solar powered calculator... it was neat that it didn't take batteries but it was frustrating because unless you're in a very well lit room, the calculator won't start.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

i use a Casio fx-9750GII which is very good I have had it for 12 years. It was a little expensive butit is very fast and has a lot of functions.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I use the Ti 84, the Ti 89, and the inspire, But i usually use the 84 for general math, and the 89 for engineering
