Ive got quite a few questions that i need help with. First, The graph of F(x), shown below, has the same shape as the graph of G(x)=3x^2, but it is shifted down 2 units. What is the equation? A) F(x)=3x^2+2 B)F(x)=3(x-2)^2 C) F(x)=3x^2-2 D) F(x)=3(x+2)^2 I think it's C

OpenStudy (welshfella):

f(x) ---> f(x) - 2 is a shift down 2 units

OpenStudy (welshfella):

youe are right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that a shift right is x-x a shift left is x+x and up is x+x while down is x-x

OpenStudy (welshfella):

more accurately f(x) - a and f(x) + a are shifts a of the whole graph down and up

OpenStudy (welshfella):

shifts left and right are f(x+a) and f(x -a)
