Quick help please on sequences !!!
So I was doing my Algebra 2 exam and I have this question, I already solved it Im just stuck on the end when it asks if it's convergent or divergent. I looked up and on mathematics, convergent is "approaching a definite limit as more of its terms are added". I take this as something that comes to and end (is limited). Divergent is "increasing indefinitely as more of its terms are added". So it is increasing each time? Tom has taken out a loan for college. He started paying off the loan with a first payment of $200. Each month he pays, he wants to pay back 1.2 times as the amount he paid the month before. Explain to Tom how to represent his first 30 payments in sigma notation. Then explain how to find the sum of his first 30 payments, using complete sentences. Explain why this series is convergent or divergent. The solution is: 30 Σ 200(1.2)^(n-1) n=1
I think I'm supposed to choose either Convergent or Divergent only. :/
Or does Divergent mean infinite?
