A particle moves on a line away from its initial position so that after t hours it is s = 6t^2 + 2t miles from its initial position. Find the average velocity of the particle over the interval [1, 4]. Include units in your answer.

okay so this is what i got (s(4) - s(1))/(4-1) = the average ? does that look right to you guys?

Yep, you take the last point of the interval minus the first point of the interval usually. This just comes from our intuitive response to questions like "What is the difference between 1 and 5"? Well, 4, that is, 5 - 1. :)
