Question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here is the file

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

What do squares have that rectangles do not?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

equal sides

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Good, now why did you pick the choice of it being a rectangle and not a square or parallelogram?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because i did not understand the question fully

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

As in you were confused by some of the answer choices?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no not anymore

OpenStudy (anonymous):

do you have any idea......would it be square

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Ahh, I see. The question didn't make sense to me at first either.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

It's basically asking if you were to cut the figure horizontally, parallel to the base which is the portion touching the ground, what shape would a slice of that figure be?

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

|dw:1438510391478:dw|

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

|dw:1438510527061:dw|

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

The black rectangle is chopping up the figure horizontally, so if you were to take tiny horizontal slices down to the base, you would indeed get a rectangle :)

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

Does it make more sense now?*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thanks

OpenStudy (jhannybean):

No problem :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol
