Re arrange your equation a little bit \[x^2-6x+22=0\] your a times c is equal to 22, it's factors are 11 and 2, now you can't use 11 and 2 such that they add up to 6, because they are the only factors u can multiply to get 22, so a different method must be used, do you know the quadratic formula??here it is for a quadratic equation of the form \[ax^2+bx+c=0\] \[x=\frac{-b \pm \sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\]
\[x^2-6+22=0\]\[x=\frac{ -6\pm \sqrt{6^2-4(1)(22)} }{ 2 }\]\[x=3+\sqrt{13}i \]\[x=3-\sqrt{13}i\]
you have a complex number here
so is that the answer?
depends on the context of your question, it can either be considered undefined or the complex number answer
i think it is the answer because it is a choice, so thank you!
