Area of a parallelogram is bh where b is the length of the base and h is the height where b and h are at a 90 degree angle.

What do you think b is?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
um 3/5?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
h 2/5
OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):
Very close! The base is just the length of the bottom line, not extended out.
OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):
h looks good! :-)

So, b would be 3/5-1/5 since the 1/5 is the extended part.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i figured it all out already but the thing is i got 1/10
and 2/5
OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):
Hm, how did you get 1/10?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
i did 3/5-1/5 = 2/5 - 1/5= 1/10
OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):
Hm, why did you subtract out 1/5 twice?

i thought i was suppose to oops..
OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):
It's cool. Do you see how it only sticks out ion one direction on each length?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (joannablackwelder):
So, we just subtract it out once, so b is 2/5 and h is 2/5 :-)
What does that give us for bh?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
4/25
