Hmm..thats quite a long answer

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

OK wait..

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

There are kind of many diseases that a person can acquire from the family history...hmm if u want an example, haemophilia can be one. Queen Victoria Of england was a carrier of this disease. Hence we find that the disease has spread to most of the male members of the family ( Since it only occurs in males, and females become carriers)

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

there r also diseases that develop which have a multifactorial basis like hypertension wherein the sons or daughters may/may not be affected by family history

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

Some more example is Myocardial Infarction leading to heart attack

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

u want more?

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

Ok ...heredity is the main culprit here...If both your parents were Whites you probable would end up being white. Similarly the diseases can also be of the same type. Heredity don't play part in general health, But the disease which are affected by off-springs from parents are mostly chronic diseases which lasts for longer time. I think if given u quite a bit of examples above.

OpenStudy (shreehari499):

A very famous celebrity recently went through Mastectomy to help her prevent Breast cancer. Its basically because she had the gene that linked to the disease in her family history
