At a myoneural junction, what is the function of the motor end plate?

I wish I knew....I looked thru the lesson and can not find ANYTHING D:

The only thing the lesson mentions regarding myoneural juncation is: "A dorsal root is a branch of a nerve carrying mostly sensory signals into the spinal cord, while the ventral root of each spinal nerve is made up of axons from motor neurons whose cell bodies are found within the gray matter of the spinal cord. The four main functions of glial cells are: to surround neurons and hold them in place, to supply nutrients and oxygen to neurons, to insulate one neuron from another, and to destroy and remove the carcasses of dead neurons. The second set of slides show the structures involved in the neuromuscular junction. Skeletal muscle cells are electrically excitable and controlled by neurons whose cell bodies are in the ventral horn of the spinal cord. Some of the axons and axon terminals of these motor neurons are evident in this specimen."
