OpenStudy (anonymous):

@triciaal

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

The standard deviation \(\Large \sigma\) is the measure of how spread out the data set is. The larger the standard deviation, the more spread out things are. The smaller the standard deviation, the more clumped together the data will be.

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

\(\Large \sigma\) is the greek lowercase letter sigma

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh i get it so the school with the most consistent would be school B cuz it has the smallest standard deviation? @jim_thompson5910

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

that is correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok but for part B would it be school B too because there is low is the least lowest of them three schools

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

for part B, you are looking for the highest averages (they probably want the mean)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohhh ok so highschool C right?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much!! I am going to open another question not sure if your good with two way frequency tables

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
