Explain why the two figures below are not similar. Use complete sentences and provide evidence to support your explanation.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The figures are similar because the left shape is proportionate to the right. Similarity goes with proportion. Basically, the right shape is technically the left shape but it's 2 times larger.

the question said to explain why are they not similar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are no angles shown, but are the angles congruent? If not, they're not similar. If proportions are not similar, then they are not similar.

How can the Angle-Angle Similarity Postulate be used to prove the two triangles below are similar? Explain your answer using complete sentences, and provide evidence to support your claims.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Angle-Angle similarity can be used to prove that two angles are similar. Count how many angles are on a triangle. They all equal to 180. "Angle-Angle" similarity means that you already know 2 angles. If you already know 2 angles out of 3, and they are the same angles, and the interior sum angle of a triangle is 180, what does that mean?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Add up the angles on the left triangle. Now, add the angles up on the right triangle. How will each triangle add up to 180?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ABC 50+30? then subtract the sum to 180 A'B'C' 97+50?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The missing angles are 97 (on the left) and 33 (on the right).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but wat is this telling me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

help me

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already explained how Angle-Angle similarity works.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh srry *__*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's fine
