question english/maths

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

\(\large \color{black}{\begin{align} & \normalsize \text{ In a certain code}\hspace{.33em}\\~\\ & \normalsize \text{'253' means 'books are old'} \hspace{.33em}\\~\\ & \normalsize \text{'546' means 'man is old'} \hspace{.33em}\\~\\ & \normalsize \text{and '378' means 'buy good books'} \hspace{.33em}\\~\\ & \normalsize \text{ What stands for 'are' in that code ?} \hspace{.33em}\\~\\ \end{align}}\)

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

\(\large \color{black}{\begin{align} &a.)\ 5 \hspace{.33em}\\~\\ &b.)\ 6 \hspace{.33em}\\~\\ &c.)\ 2 \hspace{.33em}\\~\\ &d.)\ 4 \hspace{.33em}\\~\\ \end{align}}\)

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

well there's gotta be a number assigned for old

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

unless it's a trick question where 2 = books 5 = are 3 = old

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

lol

Miracrown (miracrown):

I KNOW THE ANSWER XD

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

There is no 2 in the "buy good books" code Usuki

hartnn (hartnn):

old is common in 1st 2 statements, 5 is common from 253, 546 so 5 = old similarly, books = 3 which leaves are = 2

Miracrown (miracrown):

Don't wanna spoil it 4 every1 else

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Oh, go on ahead, you know you want to ;)

Miracrown (miracrown):

HARTNN APPARENTLY ALREADY SPOILT IT, YOU SPOILER @hartnn xD

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

There's no need to shout :|

Miracrown (miracrown):

Oooops just realized I had my caps on hahaha

hartnn (hartnn):

*guilty as charged* :P

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

oh ! I see it now @hartnn the number 5 appears twice for the first two statements.. just like the word old the number 3 appears twice for first and third statement with books the word are is only mentioned once since old = 5 and books = 3 are = 2

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

Oh, Usuki, you will never not amuse me ^^

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

ugh stop being rude on here!

terenzreignz (terenzreignz):

I fail to see where I was rude :D

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

everywhere and there are mods... ha ha

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

@imqwerty it's just puzzles XD AWWWWWWWWW @hartnn is right. beat me to it

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

\(\Huge O.O\)

Miracrown (miracrown):

Pfftt I'm way smarter than hartnn (;

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @Miracrown Pfftt I'm way smarter than hartnn (; \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\) Never ever doubted it :)

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

7 x 8 x 2 = 112 5 x 4 x 8 = 160 last one is solve for an unknown 3 x 9 x a = 162 27a=162 a = 6

imqwerty (imqwerty):

\[ \begin{array}l\color{red}{\text{o}}\color{orange}{\text{k}}\color{#E6E600}{\text{ }}\color{green}{\text{g}}\color{blue}{\text{i}}\color{purple}{\text{v}}\color{purple}{\text{e}}\color{red}{\text{ }}\color{orange}{\text{s}}\color{#E6E600}{\text{o}}\color{green}{\text{m}}\color{blue}{\text{e}}\color{purple}{\text{ }}\color{purple}{\text{m}}\color{red}{\text{o}}\color{orange}{\text{r}}\color{#E6E600}{\text{e}}\color{green}{\text{ }}\color{blue}{\text{q}}\color{purple}{\text{u}}\color{purple}{\text{e}}\color{red}{\text{s}}\color{orange}{\text{t}}\color{#E6E600}{\text{i}}\color{green}{\text{o}}\color{blue}{\text{n}}\color{purple}{\text{s}}\color{purple}{\text{ }}\color{red}{\text{:}}\color{orange}{\text{)}}\color{#E6E600}{\text{}}\end{array} \]

imqwerty (imqwerty):

:) so many ppl on this post XD :D

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

|dw:1439109182971:dw| Find the \(\color{red}{?}\)

hartnn (hartnn):

what are those counts? O.o

hartnn (hartnn):

17*8 + 1 = 137

hartnn (hartnn):

? = 1097

imqwerty (imqwerty):

:)

Miracrown (miracrown):

Fine gotta admit it Hartnn: 1

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

yeah explain XD

hartnn (hartnn):

how do we get 17 from 8?? everything else followed...

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

\(\color{blue}{\text{Originally Posted by}}\) @UsukiDoll yeah explain XD \(\color{blue}{\text{End of Quote}}\)

Miracrown (miracrown):

I'm following ...

OpenStudy (mathmath333):

how do we get 17 from 8?? i don't know

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

division?!

hartnn (hartnn):

the first thing to try in any puzzle is + - * / so I tried to get 17 and the central number was 8, so we use 8 everytime, multiplied 8 by 2, now how to get 17? add 1 then saw that same pattern repeats, multiplied 17 by 8 and added 1, to get the next number!

imqwerty (imqwerty):

|dw:1439109432335:dw|

hartnn (hartnn):

lol did you just put random numbers around circles :P

Miracrown (miracrown):

I have dyslexia :(

imqwerty (imqwerty):

Miracrown (miracrown):

It doesn't make sense

Miracrown (miracrown):
