The archway of the main entrance of a college is modeled by the quadratic equation y=-x^2+6x the university is hanging a banner at an angle defined by the equation 4y=21-x. At what two points should the banner be attached

you need to find the points of intersection of the 2 lines so you are solving simultaneously I'd take the 2nd equation and rewrite it as y = 21/4 - x/4 then equate the equations \[21/4 -x/4 = -x^2 + 6x\] and then solve for x. A really easy solution is to use graphing software and graph them, and find the points of intersection.
