OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let me guess, you've fallen and you can't get up?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so cani get help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hold on.

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Take a calculator and do each square root. The one that does not go on forever is rational.

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

irrational numbers can't be expressed as fractions.

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

also if you have a square root left over after simplifying.. it's irrational..

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

wait a sec... @keshaun455 what's the square root of 81?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which of the following is a rational number? \[\sqrt{79}, \sqrt{80}, \sqrt{81}, \sqrt{82}\] A. \[\sqrt{79}\] B. \[\sqrt{80}\] C. \[\sqrt{81}\] D.\[\sqrt{82}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

81 is 9

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

yeah and since 9 can be expressed as a fraction which is 9/1 it's rational. irrational numbers is when you have square roots remaining, a pi, or e.

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

In mathematics, a rational number is any number that can be expressed as the quotient or fraction p/q of two integers, p and q, with the denominator q not equal to zero. Since q may be equal to 1, every integer is a rational number. so in that case when we got the square root of 81 is 9 let p = 9 and q = 1 9/1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its c

OpenStudy (usukidoll):

yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good work.
