i need help please

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

When you are given degrees with minutes, use a proportion! For instance, you have 47 minutes. So set it up like this 47/60 = x/100 cross multiply 60x = 4700 x= 4700/60 x=78.33333 Now just add that on to your degrees! 52* 47' = 52.78333*! Then just type it into your calculator: sin(52.78333*) <---- do not forget your degree sign! and that will end up being .79635 RADIANS.

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

did it help you @purplemexican

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

yes thank you so much

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

@madhu.mukherjee.946 can you go through the last part?

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

which portion ?

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

from "Now just add that on to your degrees!" down please

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

yea

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

see previously we had multiplied with 100,then we got 4700

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

yes

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

so when you get the answer you divide that by 100 then you will get 0.7833 now add that with 52

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

so if i had

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

do it in the same way

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

and x=25 i divide 25/100 then multiply my answer by 79

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

not multiply sweety,add them

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

add sorry

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

79.25

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

im half asleep

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

its okay

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

would that be the final answer?

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

use the calculator

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

how do you do radian

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

you don't have a scientific calculator

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

i have a TI-nspire cx

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

okay .do you have a button called mode

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

hey@purplemexican

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

i dont see one

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

i have an fx 82

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

you will have a button of mode which will help you to change the degreed to radians

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

i have to go to settings for that and it was already in radians

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

should it be in degreed first

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

so what do you get as answer

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

1.62881

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

cos 79.25

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

cos(79+25)?

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

0.25

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

yes so 79.25

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

yea

OpenStudy (purplemexican):

oh

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

look first find the answer in degrees by your calculator now multiply that with pi and divide that by 180

OpenStudy (madhu.mukherjee.946):

cos 79.25=0.186 degrees
