Which calculation will give the total surface area of the solid figure?

I thought it was 6 x 5
In order to find the surface area of a solid object you have to find the combined "area" of each side (surface) the object has. In this case the figure folds into a cube with equal side-lengths all around. A cube has six sides, and we need to find the area of individual sides and then add them all up. So, the equation would be Surface Area of Cube= 6(5x5).
or (5x5) added up six times.
For 1 square we have \[A=5\times5=5^2\] For 2 squares we have \[A_{2}=A+A=2A=2(5^{2})\] Thus for 6 squares we have \[A_{6}=6(5^{2})\] You can also think of this as a net for a cube(what I mean by that is basically your figure is just a cube that has been unpacked, or it's sides have been opened) But for a cube we know that total surface area is given by \[A_{cube}=6a^{2}\] where a is your side This gives the same result when a=5
