OpenStudy (naga447):

which of these people is correct with there proof? picture in attachments

OpenStudy (naga447):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is there a figure, to which these statements refer? Without a drawing or a figure of sort, you can't really tell who is right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok, it is about vertically opposite angles, I see consider the figure |dw:1439923377313:dw| The proof is about the pairs of opposite angles, \[\angle2,\angle4\] and \[\angle1,\angle3\] Being equal This property is knows as vertically opposite angles are equal or congruent and has a fairly simple proof. Now let's see what Kelly and Daniel are doing Let's look at Daniel first Hm, his proof looks good But there's a big problem with Kelly, she's trying to prove a theorem using the theorem ITSELF, how can you prove something if it's not given you, and if it's given to you, what's there to prove?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What Kelly is doing is something like you are given \[x=3\] Now prove that \[x=3\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I hope that makes sense

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry I mean, how can you prove something if it's already GIVEN to you, and if it's already given, what is there to prove?

OpenStudy (naga447):

If it is given it will be a fact or statement that is excepted as true and thank you for you last couple of reply's I was reading through them and I think it clicked

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you're very welcome
