I think I did this totally wrong. I need to go reread the lessons again.

first use foil to expand y=(x-5)(5x+4)-5x^2

y=(x-5)(5x+4)-5x^2 y = (5x^2+4x-25x-20) - 5x^2, with me so far?

then we combine like terms and simplify y = (5x^2+4x-25x-20) - 5x^2 = -21x - 20

"linear term" is whatever the x term is, so in this case out linear term is -21x

and our constant term is -20 (the term with no variable attached to it)

huh that was easier than I thought. I missed the part about using foil. Okay so that's the linear term. I was correct about the constant term? It's -20
