@Vocaloid help please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

E If x is to a power that is not 1, the equasion is not a line. A. is a horizontal line B. is a vertical line C. is a line of slope=1 D. is a line of slope=3/4 E. is a PARABOLA. "x^2" is a giveaway sign of a parabolic function Therefore, the answer is E

Also: A linear equation is 1st degree. Answer choice 'E' is the only equation that is not 1st degree.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok, thanks for the help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah of course :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait, wouldn't a parabola still be a line, just not a straight one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@_greatmath7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no I don't think so

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me look it up real quick

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh you are right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but I still think the answer is E

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill look up the answer real quick I'm using a ACT prep book

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was E

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

:)

line means straight line in the land of math :) no parabola is not a considered a line. it is a path, or curve, but not a line.
