PLZ A student is trying to solve the system of two equations given below: Equation P: y + z = 6 Equation Q: 5y + 9z = 1 Which of the following is a possible step used in eliminating the y-term? (y + z = 6) ⋅ 9 (y + z = 6) ⋅ −5 (5y + 9z = 1) ⋅ 9 (5y + 9z = 1) ⋅ 5

I think you have typed your answers incorrectly - they do not make sense like that
What do you think it is?
i didn't type them @MrNood
You would need to do a negative number to do elimination
to eliminate y, you have to multiply by a non zero number so that your new y, if added to the y in the other equation, the result will be zero. so in this case, only -5y + 5y will eliminate y. so the answer is B.
The last two are incorrect so that leaves you with the top two. Which one is correct?
thank u @KieraV
No problem! :)
