You would need to do a negative number to do elimination

to eliminate y, you have to multiply by a non zero number so that your new y, if added to the y in the other equation, the result will be zero. so in this case, only -5y + 5y will eliminate y. so the answer is B.

The last two are incorrect so that leaves you with the top two. Which one is correct?
