Line A: y = x − 2 Line B: y = 3x + 4 Which of the following shows the solution to the system of equations and explains why? (−3, −5), because the point does not lie on any axis (−3, −5), because the point satisfies both equations (−4, −8), because the point satisfies one of the equations (−4, −8), because the point lies between the two axes

Ok...

OpenStudy (plasmataco):

Substitute the x-2 for y in the second equation and u would get x-2=3x+4

OpenStudy (plasmataco):

Now solve for x to get 2x=-6

OpenStudy (plasmataco):

X=-3

OpenStudy (plasmataco):

Now substitute -3 in for x in the first equation the get -3+-2

OpenStudy (plasmataco):

Y =-5

OpenStudy (plasmataco):

So.... (-3,-5)

OpenStudy (plasmataco):

Because the coordinates satisfy some both equations
